✦ Place one hand over your heart, and the other over your belly button
✦ Inhale slowly and deeply into your belly for a count of 4
✦ Exhale softly through pursed lips for a count of 8
✦ Notice where your body resists and allow it to soften on the exhale
✦ Repeat for a total of 5 cycles (one minute)

If tension shows up the moment you try this, that’s your nervous system revealing how much it’s been carrying just beneath the surface.
